This location is great for photo shoots. I was happy the way that the light bounced around from a single flash. Also, I thank my wife for braving the cold temperatures so I could get some photos. Props to you!

Fall Backyard HDR Test

Just had the camera around and wanted to create an HDR (high dynamic range) image. I only used 3 photos and it was handheld. Should have used 5 at a minimum and a tripod. The D300 allows you to bracket up to 9 images. Mostly this was a test to see the outcome of HDR oriented software vs Photoshop’s built in HDR processing. Photoshop kinda lost…

This was my first real trip in Michigan. Next time I’ll go when it’s a little bit warmer. It was slightly on the chilly side and there was some percipitation this weekend. Perhaps in a few years?

Dance to Fight Breast Cancer

Thank you for all the dancers and sponsors that came out to my wife’s dance studio last Sunday. As all of you should know by now, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Dancers from Can You Dance! passed around scratch offs which allowed people to sponsor them for varying amounts per hour. Two girls danced for over 6 hours and one extra caring girl dug deep to donate $281 dollars.

Even that baby pictured above got festive and wore some apparel fit for the occasion.

I thank this young couple and their parents for giving us the opportunity to take photos for them. Their photos were taken using a D40 and D300 with a few lenses between them. We started out inside and then moved to two outdoor sites. The modification done to the main picture displayed here was by Wesley Squire.

This was the first time David Thomas, the owner of Culver’s, had attempted to host a 4×4 contest. The weather in the morning did not cooperate, but it was still a success. Thanks for providing me the opportunity to visually document everything.
